Homemade Liquid Laundry Detergent Recipe Without Borax

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup liquid castile soap
  • 1 cup washing soda
  • 3 tbsp baking soda
  • essential oils optional: A few drops of lavender, lemon, or your favorite scent.
  • 5 cups water divided
  • 1 gal glass dispenser for storage

Instructions

  • In a large pot, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
  • Add the washing soda and whisk until fully dissolved.
  • Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  • Whisk in the baking soda and liquid Castile soap until combined.
  • Slowly add the remaining 3 cups of cold water, whisking constantly to prevent clumping.
  • If desired, add 15-20 drops of your favorite essential oils and stir gently to combine.
  • Allow the mixture to cool completely, then pour it into a glass jar or container with a lid.

Notes

Storage: Store the detergent in a cool, dark place. It should last for several months.
Stain Removal: For tough stains, pre-treat with a paste of baking soda and water before washing.
Variations: Experiment with different essential oils for a personalized scent experience.
Shake It Up: The detergent may separate over time. Just give it a good shake before using.
